145,000€ for car sharing project in Bad Lauchstädt
The state of Saxony-Anhalt is providing around €145,000 for a car-sharing project in Bad Lauchstädt. Dr Lydia Hüskens, Minister for Infrastructure and Digital Affairs, said at the project's launch in the town of Goethe that the project would be a useful addition to existing public transport.
"Mobility means freedom. This also includes the freedom to choose the means of transport. We want the people of Saxony-Anhalt to be able to freely choose all forms of mobility. This requires a well-developed infrastructure: safe roads, including bridges and cycle paths, and of course attractive public transport. The innovative car-sharing service here in Bad Lauchstädt is a living example of this," the Minister stressed.
A car and a minibus with a combustion engine are now available to the people of Bad Lauchstädt in the car park behind the town hall. An electric car will be added soon. The cars are booked via an app. It takes just a few minutes to create a profile. Once the validity of the driving licence has been confirmed, the chosen vehicle is immediately available. No car key is required.
It is planned that council staff will also be able to use the vehicles for business trips when available. The minibus is suitable, for example, for clubs that only need a vehicle occasionally.
The JETZT Mobil car-sharing project, which will initially run until 2026, is managed by Nahverkehrsservice Sachsen-Anhalt GmbH (NASA).
