DB Regio wins the contract for the ENORM network

The rail company DB Regio is to be awarded the contract for the Elektronetz Nord Magdeburg (ENORM) once again. This decision is the result of the Europe-wide award procedure of the contracting authorities Saxony-Anhalt, Regionalverband Großraum Braunschweig, Landesnahverkehrsgesellschaft Niedersachsen mbH and Brandenburg.

The bidders were informed of the decision today and have the opportunity to object to the decision within a period of ten days. If no one makes use of this option, the new transport contract will be concluded with DB Regio and the cooperation will continue beyond the current contract end date in December 2028.

The ENORM network comprises electrified routes starting from Magdeburg in Saxony-Anhalt, Lower Saxony and Brandenburg with a service volume of up to 8.4 million train kilometers per year. Of these, around 7.1 million train kilometers are covered within the state border. The network includes the connections from Magdeburg to Schönebeck, Burg, Zielitz, Halle, Stendal, Wittenberge, Braunschweig and Uelzen.
