Regional public transport plan

Pursuant to Para. 3 Sect. 2 of the Regional Public Transport Act of the State of Saxony-Anhalt, the regional public transport plan for the state of Saxony-Anhalt forms the basis for a state-wide, coordinated organisation of regional public transport within the scope of regional development as a whole.

Regional public transport plan - 2020-2030

With this regional public transport plan, the state government has set itself the target of creating a sustainable and user-oriented regional public transport system, which is to be considered as a complete system, resulting in the linking of rail and bus services. To this end, the state of Saxony-Anhalt works according to a transport policy that endeavours to provide a system of mixed modes of transport, which is both as economical and demand-oriented as possible: Rail, bus and flexible public transport services (e.g. dial-a-bus) should be deployed in accordance with the strengths they can offer. Special attention is paid to the close collaboration between the administrative districts, independent towns and cities, and the state.

Following the completion of a series of workshops on a range of specialist topics and the official participation procedures, the regional public transport plan 2020 - 2030 was approved by the cabinet on 11/12/2018.
