Fire in the Gerwisch signalling control
All tracks at the station are currently closed due to a fire in the Gerwisch signaling control. This means that the Magdeburg–Berlin line is interrupted between Biederitz and Burg. The RE1 line between Magdeburg and Frankfurt/Oder and the RB40 line between Braunschweig and Burg are affected.
The RB40 is currently only running between Braunschweig and Biederitz, while the RE1 from Berlin is terminating in Burg and returning to Berlin from there. Buses are running between Burg and Biederitz. From Biederitz, passengers can continue to Magdeburg on the RB40 and RE13.
From tomorrow (Wednesday 24 September), the RE1 will run via Burg to Möser. A continuous replacement service will run throughout the day between Möser and Magdeburg Hbf, stopping at Magdeburg Neustadt.
The replacement timetable for the RE1 can be viewed here:
There is currently no end in sight to the disruption. Passengers are urged to check the INSA app and DB Navigator for the latest departure times.
